AP Students

Dear AP Students,

Please read this message in its entirety for important information regarding the AP exams for Spring of 2020.

Please contact your teacher through email AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. It is important that students continue their distance learning for the AP exam. Most teachers will be using Microsoft Teams. If you do not remember your school email or password, please contact April Mendez Tuesday, March 24 or Wednesday, March 25, via email at amendez@fillmoreusd.org or by calling 805-524-6100.

All new AP information can be accessed at AP Central using the link below. Please check online every other day for updates.

On this link you will find a wealth of information that you should read for yourself, but here are the highlights:

College Board is offering FREE remote learning sources via the link below. You should sign up for these classes AND work with your AP teacher from Fillmore High School.

Testing. The following information is from the College Board website:
    • Traditional face-to-face exam administrations will not take place. Students will take a 45-minute online free-response exam at home.
    • Some students may want to take the exam sooner rather than later, while the content is still fresh. Other students may want more time to practice. For each AP subject, there will be 2 different testing dates.
    • Full details of each exam date and time will be published on the website by April 3.
    • Any student already registered for an exam can choose to cancel at no charge. Fillmore High School encourages you all to take the AP exam for college credit and to further your life long learning experiences. However, if you choose not to take the exam, contact Ms. Piechowski as soon as possible to cancel your exam at rpiechowski@fillmoreusd.org.
    • Students will be able to take these streamlined exams on any device they have access to—computer, tablet, or smartphone. Taking a photo of handwritten work will also be an option.
    • We recognize that the digital divide could prevent some low-income and rural students from participating. Working with partners, we will invest so that these students have the tools and connectivity they need to review AP content online and take the exam. If your students need mobile tools or connectivity, you can
reach out to us directly to let us know.
Instructional Support
Beginning on Wednesday, March 25, students and teachers can attend free, live AP review courses. Fillmore High School encourages you to sign up AND be in touch with your AP teacher via TEAMS.
