UC Davis Young Scholars Program

The UC Davis Young Scholars Program offers research opportunities primarily in the biological and natural sciences for 40 high-achieving students who will be rising juniors and rising seniors. Students admitted to the program will work closely with university research faculty on individual projects. All research will occur with UC Davis campus faculty and other affiliated field stations. In addition to these extraordinary research opportunities, participants will enjoy other opportunities to enjoy science and research learning events, mini-lectures on current issues in scientific research, and opportunities to work with other talented students.
Application fee: $40 (Please email [email protected] before the application deadline to receive a fee waiver without the need to submit additional documentation)
The program fees cover program activities, as well as five (5) units of university Group Study credit. The cost for the 2023 residential program is $6750. Substantial fee reductions (up to 95% of cost) are available for students on a needs-based sliding scale to ensure that all qualified, accepted, students have an opportunity to attend.
